🌟 Welcome to P1/2 at Gorran Primary School!

In P1/2, the adventure of learning truly begins! This vibrant and nurturing classroom is led by the wonderful Mrs. Doey and Mrs. Murphy, with the ever-supportive Mrs. Armstrong as our classroom assistant. Together, they create a warm, welcoming environment where every child is encouraged to shine.

📚 Mornings Full of Discovery

Each morning is packed with exciting learning experiences in literacy and numeracy.

• Our children begin their reading journey through ‘book bands’, learning to read by sounding out, blending, and using reading cues.
• We follow the fun and engaging Jolly Phonics programme to help children master their letters and sounds.
• In numeracy, we’re joined by our friendly Number Puppies, who help us recognise, form, and understand numbers through hands-on, practical activities using colourful and stimulating resources.

🌿 Outdoor Play-Based Learning

After break, it’s time to zip up our waterproofs and head outside!
Our Play-Based Learning sessions take place in our fantastic outdoor spaces, where children explore the world around them, enjoy the beauty of nature, and develop essential skills like problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and resilience. It’s learning through play at its very best!
